Incredibly nice staff, quiet environment with a study place in the back. Good prices and great books.
I have shopped here numerous occasions and I always have a good time. In addition to a plethora of books, this store has a Starbucks, notebooks, writing supplies, Legos, other toys, card games, and some electronics. They also carry records and record players.
I was extremely disappointed with our visit. I took my toddler son to purchase new books and was saddened once I realized that Barnes & Noble did not carry any children’s books that visually reflected my son. We are an African American family that enjoys daily reading. Unfortunately, the only books we found that reflected our culture were of historians. We found an entire section dedicated to Hanukkah, but none dedicated to Kwanza. We found Coco and Dora the Explorer books dedicated to Hispanics which I was happy to see another culture being represented. While in the children’s section my son played with an Asian boy, whose culture was not represented like my sons. I’m aware of your store carrying many African American authors work in adult stories and I commend you on that, but I find it extremely sickening and disheartening to find out that in a time where many established and award winning children authors and illustrators are being celebrated and having their work displayed nationally that my son and I cannot find their work locally in a prosperous town such as Mishawaka. Children need to be exposed to and educated on the many cultures that make up our country as well as have the opportunity to embrace the hard work of those who look like them! Our family exposes our son to different races and culture in our home. I had 4 other books in my arm to purchase at the time I was searching, but due to this stores negligence to display an accurate picture of all families I refrained from making a purchase at this time.
This place is great! The variety is overwhelming, as you could spend a whole day browsing through there extensive selection of books, movies, toys, etc. As an added bonus, the store features a Starbucks. Grab a coffee with your book!
I love Barnes & Noble! These guys have so much variety from books to games to writing supplies to music. This location was well stocked and well laid out. It was also very clean, which is something I have always found to be true of this store no matter where it is located.
