Now it's pretty much dummy proof. Walk in and grab a ticket then wai- well, dagum, I'm already being called on. Most transactions can be dealt with in a few moments and don't need much more than license, title (for a new car registration), and method of payment. There was one time I dropped in on a random day to renew my plates and the place was packed like a sardine can. I leaped back in terror but remembered that nice kiosk right there in the walk-in area so I hastily scanned my ID, slipped in a few hundred dollars, grabbed my stickers and ran!
...I must question though, since I was able to legally drive that study manual looks like it tripled in volume. What happened? O_o
called for one simple question and the lady who answered was rude and also hanged up on me.
This is not for the Mishawaka location specifically but for the statewide BMV system. One month ago, I renewed a plate and licensed a new car. They said they would mail the plates to me. The plates did not arrive in 14 days. I called and they said they would need to reorder the plates to be picked up in Mishawaka. They would expedite the reorder because my temporary plate was about the expire. I would get a call when the plates were ready to be picked up. This was 10 days ago. I haven't gotten a call. Today, I called to find out what was happening. I was told they have not shipped to Mishawaka. My temp plate runs out tomorrow. The operator told me to go to the Mishawaka branch to get a new temporary plate. She said they would need to charge me for the new plate but she couldn't tell me the cost. I would have to contact the Mishawaka branch. Of course, there is no local number for the BMV so I'll have to make the trip over to get a new temp tag, argue with them about not charging me because I HAVE ALREADY PAID FOR MY LICENSE PLATES. All in all, this has been a gigantic mess!!!!
Okay, so this place may have some hiccups once in a while but most of us rarely visit this place. Any time I'm here it's quite vacant which is a huge relief from the time before the remodel. Back then it seemed as if all Mishawaka and South Bend residents were there at the same time. Dirty, unkempt, cold, 50 telephones sharing one line. That's history.
The best BMV experience ever! Troy was very polite and helpful. Barb, a manager, went above and beyond to help my wife with a transaction that happened many months prior to our visit.
Staff very "petty", it seems as if a contest of rudnesss and arrogance takes priority over customer service or courteousness. Branch Manager - "very unprofessional"! She condones the behavior with childish mockery of customers, promoting a "cliquish" atmosphere. This facility needs to have an adult in charge.
