so i did make a phone call and they said u have to pay 120 dollars up front i said im poor have no money to my name and my dog is sitting here dying right in front of me. They said "thats not our problem unfortunatly thats not the rules to bring in a dog and just be billed like anywhere else, maybe borrow some money from somebody or take them to a vet . Oh but i thought this was an EMERGENCY ROOM for freaking animals is it not? Theres nothing we can sort out no other ways to do this my dog is not gonna make it i can just tell please i need help, crying my eyes out on the phone. Still nothing no effing help. Thanks yall why go to college to make a freakin degree in helping pets..... and creating an emergency room... if your just in it for the money. Cuz yes, i planned on my dog being like this on a very specific day. Middle finger to you all selfish POS.
They were wonderful, took decisive action, kept me informed, helped me make informed decisions, made a stressful situation much easier to get through.
The poor people who work what I imagine is an extremely difficult job are very kind, sensitive, very helpful, and unimaginably patient. When grief-stricken people yell and scream at them because of the painful reasons they are there and the amount of time they wait, I saw them be very understanding and as helpful as they can be.
Finally, when I was there with a dying pet last weekend, I was never charged and the woman at the desk did whatever she could to help me.
I Took my obviously dying cat there to be put out of his misery or treated if he could have been saved. He reeks of death and his eyes kept rolling back into his head had not been eating or using the restroom. We waited over 45 minutes not being even so much as check out once. Then another dog came in after our 45 min wait and was instantly taken back. Mind u there was a open room the entire time we waited. There also happened to be another couple with a small white dog. Some lady came out from the back and told them it would now be a 2 hr wait for all of us since this emergency dog came in. They did a half ass "vitals" check on the small dog from what i had seen. The couples concerns were completely down played. Not once sympathetic towards their feelings. From what i had heard it sounded like an obstruction of some sort that could have killed the dog. DO NOT take your animal here if its an emergency because you'll just be pushed out anyway for more money clients.
My very sick puppy was seen in a reasonable amount of time and thoroughly examined. I was given an estimate of treatment costs after basic diagnostic tests were performed and before additional work was done. We were treated with courtesy, and they were all extremely kind, gentle and attentive to my pup. A complete record of everything was given to me and also sent to my regular veterinarian. Treatment was happily successful. I will not hesitate to go back if another emergency arises.
I have called them in a panic on the weekends about my pets and they took the time to calm me, answer all of my questions, and list phone-number after phone-number of other places that could help me if, for some reason, they were unable.
