I purchased a pair of shoes from this specific FinishLine last Spring. I bought them in June and I took them out to Yosemite National Park with me. I worked out there for a few weeks and I hated my shoes. There were uncomfortable, and caused pain in my knee and actually inflicted an injury. I immediately found my receipt and noted that the return policy was 60 days. However, living in a national park, I would not be able to leave the area until my contract was finished in August of 2010. I called FinishLine and they told me to call the store in which I purchased them from. I called the South Bend store and spoke with a female manager. She indicated that it would not be a problem for me to return if I explained my situation and came to the store immediately upon my return. I returned August 11 and went straight to UP Mall. I spoke with the male manager that was on duty that day and he was VERY rude. He told me he could not make any exceptions. I spent $100 on these shoes and I would have gladly taken a pair for lesser value, or even store credit. I just didn't want these shoes! The manager called corporate headquarters and spoke with someone in charge there. He stated that the individual he spoke with said it was up to his discretion how to handle my case. He blatantly said to me, "I don't feel like handling this on my watch, I won't take those shoes back." This is AWFUL service. I will never refer anyone to FinishLine again, and every catalog I receive, regardless of coupons, I immediately throw in the trash.
This store opened at 9 am Friday and I called at 9:15 am and already a grouch answered the phone with a rude attitude! I hung up on him it was so bad.
The customer service is utter crap at this location. Completely unhelpful.
