I bought a vehicle in August of this year. A couple days after purchasing, I emailed them asking them if they performed an oil change. They said if there’s no record of one or it looks like it needs being done, they switch it. I then replied w what I specifically bought and asking if I should change the oil and the response was to base it on 3,000 miles. Given, I should’ve double checked, but the oil was so low I had to replace 5 sensors due to lack of oil pressure soon after ($400 w one free for customer service). Turns out there’s a tiny leak but it drops so slowly that the car had to have been sitting somewhere prior for a long time to be that low. It was something that would’ve been seen if the oil level was checked by the mechanic prior to selling. I’m lucky the sensors caught it instead of the engine, but who knows what type of toll it took on it considering oil is an engine’s blood. I also did a full car inspection and the car needed front brake pads, rotors, a filter, an alignment, new tires, and a brake a flush ($450 for pads, rotors, filter, and flush). The rotors were so rusty that they were chipping. Seems like another thing that would be obvious to a mechanic checking a vehicle. Overall the rest of the vehicle is in great shape, it just seems like the mechanics missed major, obvious, things. I’m lucky there was nothing wrong w the engine. I recommend taking the vehicle to a mechanic before purchasing. I used tire engineer’s $19.99 full car inspection back home. Also, there’s a lot of rust in weird places, but it’s not affecting me too bad. For example, the back end is super rusty that they couldn’t align it and the right rear tire line was so rusty they couldn’t flush it without risking a caliper. I do love my vehicle though.
